Wildfire Update – August 14, 2018
Skagit and Sasquatch Provincial Park are currently closed due to growing wildfires. These parks will remain closed until further notice, however, campers and other park users can still visit other provincial park campgrounds that remain unaffected by wildfires. Please visit the BC Parks website (bcparks.ca) to explore alternative camping options, as well as the Discover Camping website (discoveringcamping.ca) to check for available camping with reservations.
At this time, we’d like to remind the public that smoking is NOT permitted in BC Parks, except within the limits of your registered front-country campsite or in your vehicle, smokers are asked to use extreme caution and ensure butts are properly disposed of in ash trays or fire pits.
Please check back, as updates will be posted here and on the BC Parks Website (www.bcparks.ca). Other helpful resources include: Drive BC, BC Wildfire Service, and Fraser Valley Regional District Emergency Operations: Website | Facebook | Twitter: @FVRD
